Who doesn’t have a few single socks hanging around the laundry room?? Well, if you’re still waiting for the match to turn up, now is the perfect time to give up. At BPFK, we love to find creative ways to repurpose your would-be-trash into unique little treasures. Just in time for Easter, we’ll show you how to transform your miscellaneous socks into the cutest little bunnies – perfect for a centerpiece or just some fun, springtime decoration.
Supplies: 2 loose socks (non-matching), 2 rubber bands, dry rice, fabric glue (or hot glue), scissors, ribbon, cotton balls, 2-3 miscellaneous buttons, needle & thread (optional).
Step 1: Start with one sock and fill about half way up the sock tube with rice. Secure the rice in the sock with a rubber band and use a second rubber band to separate the bunny head from the belly. {Hint: small, clear rubber bands work best if you have them.}
Step 2: Using a second lost sock (preferably one with a contrasting color to the other sock), cut a small circle for the bunny’s belly. {Hint: Cut a semicircle out of a flat sock for symmetry.} 
Step 3: Apply the belly patch using fabric glue. {Optional: use needle and thread to sew on the patch and add some contrast and detail to your sock bunny.} 
Step 4: Detail time! Be creative with your bunny and add some button eyes, a button nose, a cotton ball tail and a neck ribbon. You can also use your sock scraps to make some cute buck teeth. 
Step 5: What’s a bunny without floppy ears?! Using scissors, cut down the sock tube down to the head. Shape and trim the ears to your liking.
